What is Feng Shui?
Feng Shui’s origins can be traced back to ancient China, where it was first used for designing burial sites, ensuring that the dead rested in harmony with the Earth’s natural energies. Over time, the practice expanded to include the living, influencing architectural and interior design decisions to create homes, cities, and spaces that promote prosperity and well-being.
The practice is rooted in Daoism (Taoism) and Chinese metaphysics, using principles like the Yin-Yang balance and the Five Elements (Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water). Bagua, a map of these elements, is often used in Feng Shui to assess the energy flow in a room or space and make adjustments that improve one’s health, wealth, relationships, and career.
Feng Shui spread across Asia and beyond, influencing interior design globally. Today, people continue to practice it as a way to create harmonious spaces in which positive energy flows freely, inviting good luck, happiness, and success.
